A Global Methodist Church
Today’s message was the second in the series titled “Here to There”. As we continue our journey as a newly energized church, we are charting the course that God has set for us here in Damascus. Today we are reminded to self-reflect and allow God to change our hearts so that we can let His light shine in the world of darkness. When we strive to let go of our own ways and strive to live out the influence of God, to live holy lives seeking His will all the time, we allow His seeds to be planted. God’s desire is to change us, to mold us into His image. It is time to allow that to happen by seeking Him and ignoring the desires of the sinful nature. Let us all start the day with prayer, pray throughout the day and end the day in prayer. Seek to reflect Jesus Christ in all that we do and He will honor that.
Due to technical difficulties, there is no recording for the week of August 3rd. However, there was a really exciting time of remembering your baptism that day. If you haven’t been to church in a while, now is a great time to come back. Jesus is really moving folks! This week Pastor Jon started a series inspired by what is happening in the new Global Methodist Church. God is moving in a powerful way and it is contagious! Today’s message is titled “Plotting the Course to Paradise”. To borrow a phrase from the title of a song by Matthew West, it’s time for us to do something! The time is now and it is time to say “Here I am Lord, use me.” We are going to see things happening and it is exciting. It’s time to switch from the church saying “come here and “do” for the church” to “Go and be the church.” It’s time to stop holding Jesus back and see Him save more and more souls through us. Let’s Roll!
Today’s message is titled “Come to the Table”. At that first communion meal Jesus changed Passover forever. The Passover meal is a very scripted sacred event to remember the way that God freed the Jewish people from slavery forever. Jesus came to free all from the slavery of sin. He also came so that we could freely place ourselves into His service. We who have accepted His sacrifice and forgiveness are now free to serve Him in the mission to tell all about His free gift of forgiveness through His sacrifice. A most beautiful thing about His life-changing gift is that it requires nothing on our part. There are no qualifications except to admit our failure and accept His grace. Our prayer today is to give us more of the desire that comes from him to tell others about His Forgiveness and Grace.
